Complete with: Dinner and Breakfast The November trip will be in Chiang Mai for the Loy Kratong Festival, it is a three day Festival of Lights, full of parades, floats, fireworks and a lively party atmosphere. is the full moon and the culmination of the Loy Kratong festival. It is the festival of lights, a time of joy and celebration. The Thai people are giving thanks for the end of the rainy season and a good harvest. It is also a time that everyone releases their kratong down the river to float away all the bad luck for the year and replace it with good luck in the future. A kratong is a float made of a 2 or 3 inch thick section of a banana tree that is decorated with banana leaves, and fresh flowers, incense and a candle. There are kratong making contest, beauty pageants, parties and parades. Tonight is the culmination of the festival with a big parade through the streets of Chiang Mai, big beautifully decorated well lit floats, with beautiful traditionally dressed women and men riding and waving to the crowds, are the major attraction of tonight's parade. Paper hot air balloons fill the sky, they are a thrill to watch as they go up and the fireworks attached to them blast away, as they rise into the night sky they become hundreds of yellow lights, like new dim stars filling the sky. Fireworks abound, sometimes too close for comfort. This is wonderful time to be in Chiang Mai. If we are lucky we will also be able to attend and incredible festival. After a short Buddhist ceremony of monks chanting, 3000 candles each on a 4 foot high holder is lit. Soon after that everyone starts to light paper hot air balloons, hundreds at a time, it is like a constant spiral of the light going into the sky. It is one of the most awesome visual experiences I have ever seen. This alone is worth the trip.
The February trip will be in Chiang Mai for the Flower Festival. See the beautiful flowers that grow around the city displayed in large floats totally decorated in fresh flowers as can only be done by the Thai people.

Just a note to tell you that the trip to Thailand was the most incredible journey of my life and I want to thank you for the fabulous job you have done in organizing it. Having Woody, Kob, Amnat and Daing there to teach and guide is was truly a blessing. You are very fortunate to have them take care of the many people that visit and take the course. Each time we saw or did something new, I thought it was the best, and then we would do something else that was even better.
We had a few trying times, especially with 9 women all cyling at the same time, but for the most part, it was glorius. I suggested to Lee that you put together a trip for people who have taken the basic course to go back in a year to take ....... level 2, which is the sen lines and dealing with different health or ache concerns. Just an idea....
